Most of us today with internet access have a huge dependency on a single company: Google. Have you really thought about it? Most of us on the internet use them for every search which today means using them to find out pretty much anything. This is quite scary when you think that you use Google to determine which product to buy, to find a friend or a person you just met, find out an important fact, do some research, etc... A company actually controls what and how information is being fed to the majority of the literate world population! Massive.
Now, many internet companies have a business model based on providing something free, create a need, and once the need is there, start charging for their services. What if Google suddenly said you had to pay for every search, a small amount, let´s say 0.1 US cents? That for you would be nothing but have you thought how much money would they make?
I actually like Google, I like their philosophy and their values. But Sergei and Larry are not going to be there ad eternum.

Day 18 - Real rules of attraction
This isn´t physical. This isn´t sexual. After all those are animal aspects; like a male peackock performing a feather display to attract the female. These rules are about humans.
The secret is to enjoy life, every single step of the way. To enjoy every day and every minute of every hour. Each second of every minute. There lies the real rule of attraction, as nothing is perceived faster than true joy. Nothing is craved by all humans more than pure happiness, after all, no matter what form we conceal our happiness in (money, fame,... you name it!), happiness is what we really pursue in life.
The other day I learned that the word enthusiasm comes from the Greek "Enthousiasmos", which means literally possessed by God. Is that really what is happening to me?

Day 17 - A lesson in life
The other day I had an idea about a post that I was thinking of entitling "Do you live a flat or rollercoaster life?".
The world is crowded with people that choose to have an average life day in day out (remember Bill Murray in Groundhog Day?). Others choose to reach for the peaks, even if that means occasionally facing difficult times, downsides. I am one of those people, are you?
Today I received a video from a great friend, a video that is a lesson in life. Enjoy!

Day 16 - Keep talking Ted
Some time ago a friend introduced me to something wonderful: TedTalks. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader.
The annual conference now brings together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes).
Here are some fantastic speeches that I found either extremely inspiring or scarely eye opening. Hope you too enjoy them. One thing is for sure, they will make you think. Can you handle that?

Day 15 - Innovation on films
Do you remember those books were you got to choose what happened next and then jump from one page to the other? I used to love those books as a kid, the name of those type of books in Spain was literally "choose your own adventure", quite appropriate! It was like having 100 books in one and YOU got to decide what happened next: slay the dragon? save the princes? steal from a beggar? God they were brilliant... (I wander if they still publish them, I might get some for my niece).
The mix of these memories with the memory of a fantastic fiction movie: Brazil spawned this idea. Brazil is a terrific movie by Terry Gilliam from the Monty Python´s. One of the things that makes this movie special is that it has many endings... quite a few endings which are shown consecutively to the viewer, one after the other.
Now the idea: Why not have 100 stories in one on a film and either A) Let the viewer choose what happens next, or B) Randomly select the sequence that would follow.
Wouldn´t it be radical to go to the cinema to see a movie recommended by a friend and end up seeing something totally different?
I hope the guys at Paramount or Metro are not following my blog... They might steal (yet another) brilliant idea.
Enjoy life!

Day 14 - True reflection
"That can´t be me" he though while contemplating the reflection in the water. But then, the image seemed to copy his exact movements and facial expressions in a split second, whatever those were. He tried to no avail to move briskly, in an attempt to trick the reflection into making a mistake. A futile attempt to prove that wasn´t him.
He was in complete shock as this was the first time in his life he had a perception of the way he looked to others. He looked nothing like them. In fact, he was so different there was no way of describing with words what those differences were. So different to anything he had seen before, be it human or animal.
A deep sadness started invading his soul. How can it be? Why? Why me?
He turned slowly, head down, feeling completely distraught. Dragging his feet he made his way back to the huts. In the surface of the pond, he failed to realize, the reflection remained, grinning like only a maniac does...

Day 13 - Unconditional Love
This is one of the best videos I have seen in Youtube. It is really amazing to see what true love can accomplish. The question is: would you be able to do this if faced with the same situation? Food for thought.
